Nicolas Mafael joined our Patent Litigation and Licensing practice group as an attorney-at-law in February 2025.
After studying law at Humboldt University of Berlin, he completed his legal clerkship in the district of the Düsseldorf Regional Court. During his LL.M. postgraduate studies in Japan, he deepened his interest in intellectual property and patent law. His focus included the practical application of Japanese IP law, as well as broader topics such as science and innovation policy and the legal implications of artificial intelligence.
Nicolas is fluent in English and Japanese.
In his free time, he enjoys long walks and hikes in the countryside and listening to audiobooks.
